Abbreviated updates for WSHS Orchestra students and parents Another great Winter Holiday Concert is in the books! Thank you to all the students for your time and dedication to preparing the music and giving an excellent performance! Congratulations to these students who were accepted into the All-West Tennessee Regional 9-10 String Orchestra (* indicates alternates): Violins: Jack Feng, Dominick Barconia, Bella Salazar, Molly Mize, Emma Wei, Amira Zhan Violas: Elizabeth Digmon, Raymond Cui, * Cellos: Clark Wang, Sachin Prahalathan, Scarlett Niu, Adam Fitch*, Ari Thompson* Basses: Ehman Sandhu, (Principal!) Victoria Jacobs Congratulations to these students who were accepted into the All-West Tennessee Regional 11-12 Symphony Orchestra: Violins: James Wang, Joseph Lei, Kyra Richards, Andres Campos, James Oattis, Allen Xie, Caleb Brown, Lena Zeng, Soumya Bandaru, Kierstyn Davis Violas: Max Laumann, Aneesh Kalaga, Gabrielle Clark, Navya Naik Cellos: James Ferrolino, Ellie Gunn Double Basses: John Adderson, (Principal!) These students also qualified for the All-State Orchestra Clinic in April (* indicates alternates): Jack Feng, Dominick Barconia, Bella Salazar, Clark Wang, Sachin Prahalathan*, Ehman Sandhu, Victoria Jacobs, James Wang, Max Laumann*, James Ferrolino*, John Adderson. For those who were accepted to the All-West Clinic: music and the on-line registration/contract were sent to your MSCS email accounts. The contract does require your signature and your parent’s signature. You can submit the $55.00 registration to WSHS now, or in January if you need to wait. MSCS permission slips will be distributed in January. Classwork and Grades 1. The last Practice Plan of the quarter is due December 11. 2. Flip #9 (A demonstration of one goal from Plan 2.3) is due December 12. 3. The Second Quarter Project/Portfolio/Presentation assignment was due November 30. Go Play! The Governor’s School for the Arts applications are now posted at https://gsfta.com . A link is on our Go Play/Festivals & Camps page. All 10th and 11th graders are eligible to apply. WSHS has students attend Governor’s School every year! The Orchestra Activity Expense is $50.00 for this year. This covers the All-West Audition and Concert Festival (see the syllabus for details). You can send cash or check (made to White Station High School). If you have not yet done so, please take care of the expense by the end of this month.
