The White Station High School Honors Orchestras www.whitestationorchestra.weebly.com “Clef Notes” #4 – November 17, 2020 Abbreviated updates for WSHS Orchestra students and parents Welcome to Clef Notes #4. The first quarter of the year is in the books! With the current (and future) virtual school situation, teaching and learning looks very different in orchestra this year. Personally, my December calendar has NEVER been this empty. I am going to miss the concerts, the gigs, dashing from one rehearsal to the next, and playing with others in person. And right now, I really miss preparing our students for our annual winter holiday concert. I lieu of our annual concert, I have provided the students some winter holiday music in our TEAMS folders. I hope they play for you, for each other, for family and friends, and keep live holiday music happening in their world. 1. Four orchestral pieces there that we’ve played recently, and a list of Youtube recordings they can play along with at home. 2. Easier holiday music part-books that I can scan and make available for the students to play at home. They can play with someone else (including younger siblings) or make a recording of one of the parts and play along with it. I look forward to hearing reports of home concerts. Please send me recordings if you can!
